These and other family matters render it necessary for awhile my presence in England.

Though I have been but a short time in this Colony, I have served over six years in British Honduras and instead of coming here via England I had hoped to return there from British Honduras.

From Lo-yuen via San Francisco was decided upon. Under these circumstances I trust the fact that I had served in Honduras will be borne in mind, and that I may have His Excellency's permission to apply for an extension.

I would submit the name of Mr. Ackroyd, Crown Solicitor, for the consideration of His Excellency.

I have, &c.

H. M. Goodman, Attorney General.
